Candidate Forums
Candidate Forums Connect Candidates to the Community
Candidate Forums are one very important way MIC connects candidates running for office and voters who live in Mableton and South Cobb County. Each election year, MIC invites candidates for City, County, School Board, and State legislative offices to meet the voters. These Forums have been combined in person and virtual and presented in partnership with the Austell Community Task Force and the Powder Springs Community Task Force.
During the Forums, candidates are given the opportunity to share their backgrounds, qualifications, and beliefs as to why they should be elected and deserve to be the voters’ choice. Equally as important, voters get an opportunity to hear firsthand what candidates stand for and to submit questions that are posed to all the candidates for a given office.
Forums will be announced via MIC social media, newsletter, and other communication channels.
The relationships that MIC maintains with elected and appointed officials at the county, city and state level provide MIC with the unique position to bring all parties together for the benefit of the community. Forums are held prior to elections to help educate voters, so informed decisions can be made at the polls.
